Tamlyn Teow
ARTIST, ILLUSTRATOR AND PROPS DESIGNER
Tamlyn migrated to Australia from Singapore at 13 and went on to study a double degree in Commerce and Economics. In 2013, she left a corporate job in institutional banking to pursue her passion in learning how stories are told through art. Along with other dedicated artists, Tamlyn strives to be a part of a team that focuses on important values and morals; work that gives hope in challenging times, spark curiosity and bring individuals together by opening their eyes to truth and meaning.
In 2017, she completed a Masters in Production Design at Victorian College of the Arts. Since then, Tamlyn has worked in the art department for various films and TV productions in Sydney. Other notable works include co-designing and art-finishing the David Jones Christmas Windows for MacGyver Models as well as freelance commissions for illustration and sculpture.

Heidi Cooper Smith
ILLUSTRATOR
Heidi has always loved to draw, but it wasn’t until she had three small children and a towering picture book collection that she decided to try her hand at illustration. Six months later, she received her first picture book contract and started work on it soon after. Now with more than ten years experience, Heidi has worked with a number of different publishers on some amazing picture and chapter books.
Based in Brisbane, Heidi writes quirky playful stories and illustrates digitally using watercolour brushes. When she is not writing or illustrating, she can be found covered in clay, working as a production potter while she dreams up new characters to bring to life.

Lauren Mullinder
ILLUSTRATOR
Lauren is an illustrator, graphic designer, artist and educator. Based in her home studio in Adelaide, South Australia, Lauren spends her time illustrating children's books, exploring the natural world and developing workshops in art, drawing fundamentals and environment design.
Lauren has illustrated a number of children's books, with her latest junior fiction titles Lexie Moon & the Word Burgling Bungle and Lexie Moon & The Space Day Disaster published by Riveted Press in 2025.
She loves visiting schools and running illustration workshops, where children have a hands on experience creating their own designs and characters.Lauren is currently the Regional Coordinator, South Australia for SCBWI (Society of Children's Book Writer's and Illustrators), a member of Adelaide Illustrators and CBCA (Children's Book Council of Australia) and was previously the Program Manager for Writers SA.

Aleck Morton
VIDEO EDITOR, ANIMATOR AND ILLUSTRATOR
Aleck Morton is a highly sought after editor and illustrator. His creativity in and outside the edit suite has led him to work on a wide variety of productions in television across a 18 year career starting in London and crossing over to Melbourne 10 years ago. Originally from a fine art background, he moved into editing high end commercials, short films, animation and music videos but now specialises in long form documentary and factual programming. His recent work has included the Emmy award winning comedy special Hannah Gadsby's Nanette, ABC's Hard Quiz, Grand Designs Australia, his own ABC doco-series Housemates and What Could Go Wrong?, as well as helping out on features Oddball and Mystify. Aleck also created the animations Covid Nursery Rhymes by Kitty Flanagan [ABC’s The Weekly]. Allen the Alien is his first book.

Sandy Flett
ILLUSTRATOR
Sandy Flett is an illustrator and cartoonist who lives in the beautiful countryside of New England, NSW. She creates her hilariously kooky characters, pictures and stories in her art studio while listening to sheep baa and cows moo very loudly outside her window.
Sandy is the illustrator of the junior fiction series Juno Jones, Word Ninja by Kate Gordon, and is also the creator and presenter of her very own YouTube Channel Kids Art School, which is loved by kids across the world.

Ruth-Mary Smith
ILLUSTRATOR and surface pattern designer
Ruth-Mary is an illustrator and surface pattern designer specialising in children’s design, who loves to produce sweet and whimsical illustrations!
Ruth-Mary lives with her husband three daughters in Sydney's Northern Beaches NSW, Australia, in a pink house with two pups Peggy Lee and Katie Brown and a cockatiel Peaches. She works from her home studio, drawing digitally and mostly working with watercolours and gouache.

Ann-Marie Finn
AUTHOR AND ILLUSTRATOR
Ann-Marie Finn is an artist, illustrator and author of children's books. She lives in Western Queensland with her two young boys who inspire new stories and ideas every day. She started her career in the UK, but migrated to warmer climates in 2007 and is now a happy Australian. She has a growing collection of children's books to her name, including A Trip to the Moon, I Despair of my Hair and Gus the Asparagus.

Yvonne Mes
AUTHOR AND ILLUSTRATOR
Yvonne Mes is a children’s author and illustrator from Brisbane. She writes fiction and non-fiction in the form of picture books, junior fiction and short stories. Her stories playfully expand perspectives and invite feelings. Yvonne coordinates Write Links, the Brisbane children's writers group supported by Book Links (Qld) Inc and is a member of SCBWI and several other professional writing bodies. Yvonne grew up in Amsterdam but has made her home in Australia. Her three sons make sure she is never lost for inspiration. Yvonne's first book with Yellow Brick Books was Oliver's Grumbles.

Monty Lee
artist, printmaker AND ILLUSTRATOR
Monty Lee is a Brisbane-based artist who has been making illustrations since she could walk. Both her parents are artists and were determined to hand down their passion for art to their young children. Monty's urge to create through printmaking, painting and drawing were thus instilled in her from a very early age.
Travelling through many different jobs in her life, she maintained her interest in printmaking and illustrating. Monty created the illustrations for Songs to Edward Lear by Sjef Frenken. Monty lives with her husband, two children and a dog. She is determined to hand down her passion for art just as her parents did. She is the illustrator for Grumpy Bear, Grouchy Bear by Lynn Ward.

Ruth de Vos
TEXTILE ARTIST AND ILLUSTRATOR
Ruth is an illustrator and textile artist in Perth, Western Australia. Ruth has been absorbed in drawing and art making since childhood, but especially since the first of her six children was born in 2003. Ruth loves to celebrate the small, ordinary things of life in her artwork, which is why much of her work aims to capture the joy of little children discovering this wonderful world in which we live. Ruth works in a combination of digital and traditional media. Ruth's debut picture book is Barefoot Bea, written by Heather Neilly.

Sona Babajanyan
artist and illustrator
Sona is an artist and illustrator from Armenia, living in Brisbane since 2008. She has been working as a translator of literature, editor, and graphic designer, and it was not until moving to Australia when she finally decided to focus all her attention on art and illustration. This was a decision she never regretted. Since that time she has illustrated a number of children’s picture books and realized that she loved it – looking at the world with a child’s eyes again. Sona’s works are full of subtle humour, poetry and magic. She works in traditional as well as digital media, both in colour and black-and-white.

Young Giuseppe has been on many imaginary adventures but the ones he enjoyed the most were the ones he shared with others. Giuseppe has had adventures with film makers, computer games, and IT though on all those travels he’s found he’s missed one thing - making his own adventures to share with others.
